TIC is thrilled to be working with the very talented Matt Gibson* on Recent Tragic Events, which runs for 8 performances May 8-11 and 15-18 @ 8 pm at The Bridge Theater @ Shetler Studios.

Tickets are $20 here: www.tictheater.com and by calling 1-800-838-3006.

We asked 3 quick questions and he answered...

Who do you play in this play?
I play Andrew -- bookstore manager at the Minneapolis Airport, set up by his college acquaintance on a blind date.

Bookstore, huh? What's your favorite book?
Tough to choose! The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay by Michael Chabon. It's about cousins who become major figures in the comics industry in NYC. (Other front runners: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and A Separate Peace.)

The play, Recent Tragic Events, has a lot of coincidences. Recent coincidental things in your life, and what does it all mean?
Since we've started work on this play so many things referenced in it have turned up in my life.  My character references several authors including Marianne Moore and Elizabeth Bishop. Last night I turned on my TV and it was a documentary about Maryanne Moore and she was talking about a letter she wrote to Elizabeth Bishop! I always take these "coincidences" as signs it's the right project for me to be working on.
